What might be the final part in the saga of Solid Snake also marks the nearing closure of the InRetroSolid series. Just like how us here at InRetroSpect will within the next few weeks reform back to our natural design, Marconi argues that Guns of the Patriots is Snake’s final purging. That the game is nothing more than the slow process of how an animal, locked and caged in his own body, finds their way to return to a natural path.

cardboard-box28

How can one game change so much? How can one series span so much time and for that length surpass its own achievements? Well this is what the guys have challenged themselves to discover over the next thirty days. It is undoubted that Metal Gear Solid has altered the way we play games but over this month each game will be pulled and plucked apart to see what makes it tick, why we still like it and if they still hold weight today. It all starts with a special group discussion on the first major console release of the series Metal Gear Solid.
